Located in Richardson, Tx., Chem Chek, Co., Inc. is a privately held minority / women owned business. Gene and Diana Bauske founded the company in 1990 with the mission of providing quality on-site drug screen collections to the D/FW area. Chem Chek incorporated in 1992 and rapidly expanded to cover the continental United States, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Our services have grown from urine collection and BAT testing to full service substance abuse program administration that includes random selection, record keeping, and training.
In 2003 Diana Bauske assumed majority ownership and became CEO. Chem Chek is certified by the Women’s Business National Council as a WOBEC, recognized by the state of Texas as a Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) and Licensed by the Government of the Virgin Islands.
Chem Chek, Inc. specializes in on-site collections and breath alcohol testing and is a Drug Program Third Party Administrator (TPA) and has provided both regulated and non-regulated employers urine drug screen collections and breath alcohol for over twenty years.
Our team is knowledgeable and up to date on DOT testing, reporting and record keeping regulations. We have positioned our company to keep current with changes in the DOT regulations through our sustaining membership and commitment in The Drug and Alcohol Testing Industry Association (DATIA).
Chem Chek offers forensic urine drug screen collections utilizing nationwide Patient Service Centers and third party preferred facilities. Additionally, we have a national network of collectors and / or collection facilities. Chem Chek, Inc is ready to work with any approved collection facility to assure timely testing and rapid and clear communication.
Chem Chek Collectors and BATs have met DOT qualification and training requirements as outlined in the Department of Transportation’s regulations 49 CFR Part 40. All of Chem Chek’s personnel and most of our contractors are DATIA Certified Professional Collectors (CPCs) or DATIA Certified Professional Collector Trainers (CPCTs).
Two Chem Chek trainers are certified by DATIA as Regional Certified Professional Trainers (R-CPCTs). Two of our Breath Alcohol Technicians are certified as BAT trainers. Chem Chek also offers DATIA collector and DER training, as well as BAT training and company supervisor training.
Chem Chek provides 24-hour on call phone numbers to our clients’ Drug Program Administrators. Managers and / or supervisors at our clients’ stations / locations may also be furnished the emergency numbers to contact Chem Chek, Inc. personnel outside of normal business hours, on weekends and holidays for problems, questions or emergencies.
Chem Chek will assign a specific Project Manager to work with each client’s Drug Program Administrator to ensure testing is done in a professional and timely manner. The Project Manager will monitor collectors and collection facilities to make sure DOT and the client’s company procedures and protocol are followed.
Our team offers Medical Review Officer Services performed by a qualified MRO in strict accordance with all DOT regulations 49 CFR Part 40 and applicable modality regulations such as those for FMCSA, FTA, PHMSA, FAA, USCG and FRA.
Our account reps are well versed in CFR Part 40 regulations. They are able to take any call that comes in to provide assistance and / or answers in a satisfactory and timely manner.
Chem Chek offers various training classes both in office and on-site. Training classes are taught by our experienced team. By teaching the training classes, Chem Chek must stay versed in the industry regulations and guidelines along with providing up-to-date service to our clients and their needs.
Chem Chek has successfully assisted some of our clients in creating a procedural system to arrange for follow-up testing of DOT, Company and Volunteer employees. The procedures ensure the testing is confidential and paperwork is distributed to the designated authorized parties.
Chem Chek staff also arranges to identify a few locations to travel annually in order to monitor collectors, check collection facilities for and meet local client representative at these designated facilities.
Chem Chek is committed to providing the highest quality service to all of our clients. We communicate our expectations and standards to all of our employees and subcontractors by providing them training, guidance, sample forms, memos and protocol specific to each of our clients. Our staff consistently works on quality control measures by reviewing our collector’s paperwork, ensuring re-training is arranged if needed, available to our collectors 24 / 7 for answering questions and giving necessary guidance to make certain testing is completed correctly.
Each designated account manager works with each client to develop a tool for measuring levels of satisfaction and performance. This can be accomplished through surveys, interviews, and analyzing previous problems and past experiences in order to implement best practices and procedures above and beyond minimal levels of customer satisfaction.
The account manager will create tools for communicating and reporting quality issues to appropriate parties. Work with the client’s program manager and staff to determine the desired frequency and methods of reporting. Some of our reporting methods to clients include spreadsheets for documenting completed test to include the locations, dates, specimen ID numbers, alcohol test numbers and selected employee numbers.
Utilizing only SAMHSA certified laboratories for all our urine and hair testing, Chem Chek has long standing accounts and relations with Quest Diagnostics Laboratories, Clinical Reference Laboratory (CRL), LabCorp, Inc., MedTox Laboratory, and Advanced Toxicology Network (ATN).
